Melanie is a commercially minded lawyer and is passionate about obtaining a swift, sensible resolution for her clients and maintaining and nurturing her client relationships which are very important to her.
Melanie commenced her career with a national firm in 2003, with a focus on general litigation and debt recovery. In a career that has spanned well over 15 years, Melanie has worked in Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane. Her move from Melbourne to Brisbane saw her take the lead to set up and grow a new office. During her time in Melbourne and Brisbane she also made some fantastic connections that she continues today.
Moving back to Adelaide in 2008, she worked for a well-regarded Adelaide firm, becoming a partner there in 2012. She later took on a role with another reputable Adelaide firm as Special Counsel.
In 2021, following the sad passing of Daniel Roach, Melanie became sole director and manager of the firm and is dedicated to ensuring excellent legal service to clients and continued community involvement by the RCL team.
Her early practise in debt recovery expanded to cover insolvency, banking and finance, property law, and general commercial litigation. She also has a host of experience in wills and estate litigation, and employment law – running several unfair dismissal, redundancy, and harassment cases for employers and employees.
When she is not at work, she is busy as a single mother with her little boy and two dogs.
Alice has been with the firm since 2015 as a Law Clerk then Solicitor and was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 2022.
Prior to her employment with RCL, she worked at the Flinders Legal Advice Clinic, operated through Flinders University Law School. Flinders University was where she obtained a Bachelor of Law and Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Behavioural Science.
Alice believes in the importance of local connections and has a great interest in netball – a perfect combination which led to her being on the Board of the Southern United Netball Association. She is also on the Board and a member of the Rotary Club of Seaford.
She is approachable and passionate about assisting clients in many of our practice areas, from business start-ups to contractual disputes.
Outside of work, Alice enjoys spending time with family both here and interstate, yoga, swimming, and walking her rescue puppy Piper in the many beautiful national parks.
Caitlyn has been a solicitor with RCL since early 2019 but had been clerking with the firm from late 2018 whilst completing her studies with Flinders University. Whilst at Flinders she obtained a Bachelor of Law and Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting.
Having grown up in the Southern Suburbs, Caitlyn understands the importance of helping local businesses and building local connections. Her double degree allows her to assist clients in many of our practice areas, particularly those that involve a financial nature.
Caitlyn is also an avid sport fan, having been involved in netball, surf lifesaving and swimming clubs from a very young age. Caitlyn is still heavily involved in several local netball associations, both in a playing and coaching capacity, and you can often find her on a netball court somewhere in the southern community.
Kym has been at RCL since 2019, starting out as our friendly Admin assistant and is now employed as the Office Manager.
She places pride, determination and a high standard on client service as she is often the first point of contact with our clients. Kym enjoys providing exceptional client service and she is a dedicated and important member of the RCL team.
During her time at RCL, Kym has developed a passion for supporting our lawyers, event organisation as well as taking control of all social media and marketing.
In her spare time Kym loves to go for walks along the beach, renovate her house and you will often find her at a local Sunday market.
